Sophomore Year Initiative
The Sophomore Year Initiative (SYI) was a Title V Hispanic-Serving Institution grant-funded program. SYI has been institutionalized and provides individual attention to students in the cohort through academic advisement, career advisement, personal counseling, and tutoring services. The goals of SYI are to increase student retention and persistence, encourage on-time graduation through regular advisement and early selection of a major, and promote on-campus engagement.
