Two Lehman College students will step into the spotlight as interviewers for the Herbert H. Lehman Memorial Lecture on March 31 featuring The Kid Mero. Representing different academic paths but a shared commitment to storytelling and community, both bring a personal sense of purpose to the conversation.

Molly Varillas, a senior majoring in business administration, brings her experience in student leadership and campus engagement to the role. “Moments like this remind me how powerful it is when students have the opportunity to lead conversations that inspire and connect our campus community,” she said. “It means a lot to create a space where we feel seen, heard, and inspired.”

Julisha “JuJu” Evans sees the opportunity as a milestone in her growth as a storyteller. “As a film major and journalism minor, being selected to interview The Kid Mero is a unique opportunity to bridge my passion for storytelling with the creative excellence Mero embodies,” she said. “I am incredibly honored to represent the student body in a conversation about authenticity and culture, highlighting the caliber of talent we are cultivating right here on campus.”

Together, Evans and Varillas will help shape what promises to be a lively exchange that centers the culture, creativity, and voices of The Bronx.
