Ulises Gonzales

October 26, 2026

Ulises Gonzales, a lecturer in the Journalism & Media Studies department, is featured in a new digital archive documenting contemporary Spanish-language literature in New York City.

Presented by City College and the Instituto Cervantes New York, the project includes interviews with writers, editors, publishers, translators, and cultural leaders whose work has helped shape the city's cultural and literary landscape.

Reflecting on his participation, Gonzales emphasized the importance of recognizing the longstanding contributions of Spanish speakers to New York and the United States. "We should keep pushing forward the narrative that our contributions have long been an important part of the cultural life of this city," he said. Gonzales also described the archive as "one more brick in the building of a stronger Hispanic literary community in New York City."
