Thanks to a $149,000 investment secured by State Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia (District 86), Lehman College's CUNY on the Concourse will expand its Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program, helping students access high-quality, hands-on instruction as they prepare for careers in healthcare.

"CUNY on the Concourse has always served as a gateway to opportunity for Bronx residents seeking new skills and new possibilities,” said Fernando Delgado, Lehman College president. “We thank Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia for ensuring more Bronx residents can access the training, skills, and opportunities needed to thrive in today's economy.”

Campus leaders and students joined Assembly Member Tapia on Tuesday July 28 for a special check presentation celebrating this significant investment in healthcare workforce training.

"I am proud to deliver $149,000 in capital funding to modernize the Certified Nursing Assistant training lab at Lehman College's CUNY on the Concourse, Assemblymember Tapia said. “This investment will expand training capacity for Bronx residents pursuing careers in healthcare, one of the fastest-growing sectors in our economy. Lehman College has long been a source of opportunity for our students, and this funding helps keep it that way."
