Lehman College has been recognized by Washington Monthly as one of the top “Best Bang for the Buck” colleges in the Northeast, earning sixth place in the 2025 rankings, Best Colleges for Your Tuition and Tax Dollars. The magazine praised Lehman’s ability to combine affordability and strong outcomes, with a solid graduation rate and a net price of just over $3,100 for median-income students who qualify for financial aid—making it the sixth-most affordable school in the nation. The College was also highlighted in Washington Monthly's 25 "Best in Class" institutions.
"In terms of economic fundamentals, this sprawling campus in the Bronx is better than practically any regional college," the rankings noted. Sister CUNY institutions Baruch, John Jay, Hunter, and Brooklyn Colleges also made the list.
Washington Monthly is far from the only voice extolling Lehman's value. Niche.com has just ranked the College No. 2 on its "Best Value Colleges in New York," and Forbes ranked it fourth on its national list of the "25 Colleges With The Highest Payoff."
