Bronx officials and community members including representatives from Lehman Athletics celebrated the grand reopening of the newly reconstructed artificial turf field at Harris Park on May 7.
The playing field is over 170,000 sq. ft., making it one of the largest of its kind in The Bronx, and is heavily used by local sports leagues and schools—including Lehman—in addition to the general public.
Harris Park, just south of the Lehman campus, has been a recreational hub in the Northwest Bronx community since it was acquired by the City in the 1940s.
