Bronx Institute Student Scores Research Opportunity at AMNH

The Bronx Institute is excited to share that Jayden McDermott, a Bronx GEAR UP THRIVES student attending Bronxdale High School, has been chosen to participate in the highly selective 2025-2026 Science Research Mentoring Program at the American Museum of Natural History. The program provides an opportunity for NYC high school students to conduct one year of scientific research with their peers and museum scientists. Research projects will include a special focus on machine learning and AI.
Professor Herminio Martinez, executive director of The Bronx Institute, said “all of us here at Lehman can be proud that Jayden’s hard work and our support have created this great opportunity for another GEARUP student in The Bronx.”
