Jorge Silva-Puras, Lehman's provost and vice president for Academic Affairs and Student Success, spoke with Diverse Education about the national increase in six-year college completion rates. Lehman's rates exceed the new averages, he noted. A major factor is the support the College offers new and transfer students, such as intensive advising, as well as programs like CUNY Cares that ensure students have access to the financial resources they need to remain in school.
