Campus housing is available to currently enrolled Lehman College or CUNY students who are in good academic and disciplinary standing.

Lehman College housing, The Lehman Grand, is located at 2530 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10458.

Housing fees include a furnished room, utilities (electricity, water, and heat), Wi-Fi access, and access to common spaces and residential programming.

There are multiple rooms set up as ADA compliant, but all rooms are ADA adaptable and can be converted to ADA compliance should the need arise. 

Students can apply through the Lehman College Housing link. A completed application and deposit are required before a housing assignment is issued.

Yes, a $200 housing deposit is required to secure your space. The deposit is applied to your account through the Bursar’s Office once your housing contract is signed.

Deposits must be submitted by July 31 to reserve a room for the Fall 2026 semester.

Students are assigned housing based on responses to the roommate questionnaire (personality and living habits), submitted roommate preferences, and the timing of the deposit. Rooms are assigned by gender, and floors may be co-ed.

Yes. Students may indicate roommate preferences in the application. Requests are honored when possible but are not guaranteed.

The Lightning Meal Plan provides students with a set number of meal swipes and dining dollars to be used at select campus dining locations. Learn More.

No, dining dollars will be only be accepted at the three World Café locations; the Underground Lounge, Harmony Café, and Carman Café.

Yes. A physical Lehman College ID card is required to use your Meal Plan at participating campus dining locations. Simply present and swipe your ID card at the cafeteria point of sale, and the system will verify your Meal Plan and deduct the appropriate meal swipe or Dining Dollars.

If you do not yet have a Lehman College ID card: 

• New students must be enrolled in the current semester and present a valid government-issued photo ID.  

• ID cards are issued by the Office of Public Safety ID Office, located in Shuster Hall, Room 079.  

• If the ID Office is closed, eligible students can submit their photo through Lehman's online photo ID system after receiving an invitation via email. 

If your ID card is lost or stolen, you should replace it as soon as possible, since it is required to access your Meal Plan and many campus services. 

To obtain a replacement ID card: 

1. Visit the Bursar's Office in Shuster Hall, Room 031, and pay the replacement fee, $15, for a proximity/dual-access ID card 
2. Bring your payment receipt and a valid photo ID to the Office of Public Safety ID Office (Shuster Hall, Room 079) to receive your replacement card. 

Meal availability is calculated over the entire semester, not on a daily basis. 

Meal availability is based on the official academic calendar and excludes: 

• Weekends 
• College holidays 
• Days when the College is officially closed 

The number of meal opportunities is therefore determined by the total number of eligible dining days during the semester rather than by assigning meals to individual calendar days. 

No. Meal swipes are available throughout the semester based on your selected plan. You may choose when to use them during eligible operating days, subject to the limits of your specific meal plan. 

Dining Dollars are a prepaid balance included with certain Meal Plans that may be used to purchase eligible food and beverages at the same locations as the meal plan. Students can add Dining Dollars to their account mid-semester. 

Meal swipes are intended for the student who purchased the Meal Plan unless the specific plan includes guest meal benefits. 

All Meal Plans expire at the end of classes for the Fall 2026 semester. Any unused meal swipes expire at that time and cannot be carried into a future semester.

• Your weekly class schedule 
• How frequently you plan to purchase meals 
• Your need for Dining Dollars 

Selecting the appropriate Meal Plan before purchase is important because only one plan may be purchased each semester, and purchases are non-refundable.

Each room is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and storage space.

There are Eight washers and Ten dryers located on the 3rd floor. Students are responsible for putting money on a card to pay for machine use. 

Yes, there is a full kitchen on the third floor set up for student use. 

Yes. Students will have the option to rent a microwave and/or refrigerator through an approved vendor. Microwaves and a refrigerator are also located on the third floor.

Yes. Quiet hours are enforced to support an academic living environment.

Yes. Housing facilities include security measures such as controlled access and staff oversight.

Students are expected to follow all housing and college policies. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including removal from housing.

Move-in dates and times will be communicated prior to the start of the semester.

Guest policies will be outlined in the housing handbook and must be followed at all times.

Resident Assistants (RAs) and Residence Life staff are available to support students and address concerns.

Yes, we are currently reviewing proposals for a modest scholarship for the first set of students who choose to live in The Lehman Grand.

Lehman College will provide a free shuttle service to and from campus, with stops at key campus locations, nearby subway stations, and CUNY on the Concourse. A full schedule will be shared soon.

The residence hall is located less than a mile from campus, and students may also choose to walk. Public transportation options, including the B and D trains along the Grand Concourse, are also available.

Yes. There is a Citi Bike location next to the dorm on Grand Concourse and 192nd Street in front of Poe Park. There are three locations at Lehman College by Gates 1, 5, and 8. 

Yes. Lehman College offers monthly overnight parking for residential students at a rate of $150 per month. Parking is located on the main campus in the Student Lot on Goulden Avenue at Bedford Park Boulevard West.
