Micro-Credential “Algebra for All” (A4A)

Lehman College offers 5-courses, 15-credits sequence MicroCredential for Algebra for All (A4A), to support elementary, middle school and high school teachers of mathematics. Participants will deepen their content knowledge of critical areas that relate to algebra. They will also learn, apply and reflect on best pedagogical practices for mathematics. Courses will be accepted into Lehman’s matriculated mathematics education program. Tuition and fees for the first 3 courses, 9-credits will be paid by CUNY during the first year (Spring 2022- Summer 2022). Lehman Noyce Focus-On-STEM Scholarship Program

The Lehman Noyce Focus-On-STEM Scholarship Program is a Master’s Level program that provides an opportunity of a lifetime for qualified, energetic STEM graduates and Professionals, who have a passion for pursuing a professional career in teaching mathematics or science. Noyce Scholars are some of the most sought-after applicants for teaching positions nationwide.

Milman Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship for Innovation in Teaching Program, 2020-21

The Milman Scholarship provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate candidates in educator preparation programs to explore innovative ideas and strategies in learning how to effectively teach students in high needs schools through the integration of arts.

 

LUTE-STEM Program

LUTE-STEM is Lehman’s second USDOE-sponsored urban residency program. Each cohort will be comprised of 25 high achieving, diverse individuals who will participate in a year-long paid residency in a high need school located in the Bronx (15+ hours per week during fall semester and full-time during spring semester).

Clinically Rich Intensive Teacher Institute – Bilingual Extension

The Lehman College Clinically Rich Intensive Teacher Institute Bilingual Extension (CR-ITI-BE) is an 11-month program (July-May) that offers tuition assistance to full-time certified teachers seeking a Bilingual Extension to their base certificate grades 5-12. The grant pays $300 tuition/ credit for the 15-credit program; after successful completion of the program and the BEA, candidates can be recommended to NYS for the Bilingual Extension. Teach Grant Program

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants to students in exchange for completion of a service obligation teaching in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

NYS Math & Science Teaching Incentive Program

NYS Math & Science Incentive Program Graduate and Undergrad- 2.5 GPA or higher

The NYS Math and Science Teaching Incentive Program is offered to encourage students to pursue careers as math and science teachers in secondary education (grades 7-12). Awards are made to students attending school at the undergraduate and/or graduate degree level in exchange for five years of full-time employment as math or science teachers in secondary education in NYS.

NYS Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program

The Masters-in-Education Teacher Incentive Scholarship Program provides eligible students with a full-tuition scholarship for a master's degree at a State University of New York (SUNY) or City University of New York (CUNY) college or university.

NYS Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Incentive Program

The NYS STEM Incentive Program provides tuition awards to students who are New York State residents attending a public degree-granting college or university located in New York State. Recipients must be in the top 10 percent of students of their high school graduating class, pursue an approved, two or four-year STEM degree program and agree to live in NYS and work in a STEM field in NYS for five years after graduation.
