Performance Facilities

The department produces an annual performance season of music, theatre, and dance on the campus of Lehman College in Bronx, NY. The season is an integral component of the degree programs and provides students a lab experience in performance, producing, technical production, and design. In addition to dozens of recitals, chamber music, as well as orchestral and choral performances, several major main stage productions of plays, musicals, dance concerts, and multimedia productions, directed by faculty or professional NYC guest artists, are mounted for the public in our state-of-the-art facilities.

Lovinger Theatre

500-seat proscenium theatre located in the Speech and Theatre Building

Studio Theatre

125-seat black box theatre located in the basement level of the Speech and Theatre Building

Recital Hall

125-seat hall for solo and chamber music located on the third floor of the Music Building

Student Experimental Theatre (SET)

80-seat black box theatre

Student Practice Rooms and Digital Audio Workstations

A number of rooms are available for student use in the Music Building, including a percussion practice room, a piano practice lab, several rooms with acoustic and digital pianos, and an electronic music lab with 16 digital audio workstations.

Multimedia Center and Lehman Studios

Multimedia Center

28,000 sq. ft. Center includes recording studio, audio and video production control rooms, eight editing suites, student news room, media conversion room, conference room and several classrooms.
