Ponce Scholarships Support Five Lehman Students

This fall, five stellar Lehman students are making the most of $1,000 scholarships they received from the Ponce Bank Scholarship Program, which uplifts CUNY students who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to community.
“This scholarship will help me overcome financial difficulties so I can stay in college and complete my studies,” said recipient Maynee De Los Santos. “I will be able to give back to my community as a social work discharge planner, helping people to connect to resources in their community so they can have a better quality of life when they leave the hospital.”
The awardees represent a range of disciplines and stages of study, and are majoring in fields spanning the sciences, technology, and health care:
- Rahilou Bah, Chemistry
- Leilany Fabian, Computer Science
- Khadija Bagnaba, Nursing
- Liza Jones, Psychology
- Maynee De Los Santos, Social Work
Established in 2022, Ponce Scholarships recognize exceptional students from economically disadvantaged communities. Undergraduate students at 12 CUNY colleges ae eligible to apply.
