A big change is coming to Lehman College Athletics. Lehman College is a founding member of the recently established CITY Collegiate Conference, an NCAA Division III conference that marks a new chapter in CUNY athletics. Starting this summer, the new organization will expand opportunities for student-athletes in the greater New York City metropolitan area by including athletics programs from across CUNY as well as regional public and private institutions.

Lehman College President Fernando Delgado is chair of the CITY Collegiate Conference Presidents' Council.

"Lehman Athletics is proud to be a founding member of the CITY Collegiate Conference," said Ryan McCarthy, director of Lehman Athletics and APEX Facilities. "This is an exciting transition that expands our conference while reinforcing its presence in the Greater New York Area, and we are proud to be at the forefront."

McCarthy, who currently serves as vice president of the CUNYAC athletic directors, will also help guide the new conference as a member of the CITY Collegiate Conference Governing Policies Committee.

Lehman enters this new era from a position of strength. The Lightning are the reigning CUNYAC champions in men's basketball and men's soccer and the Colllege is home to several of the conference's Players of the Year and Coaches of the Year.

Two new private colleges joining CITY are Pratt Institute and Saint Elizabeth University with the potential for several more Division III schools joining soon.
