Lehman College celebrated the achievements of the 2025 SMILE pre-dental scholarship cohort while welcoming the 2026 class at a special event on May 4. The program, which was inspired by a student’s question about access to dental assistant certification, is designed for students balancing school and work, and opens pathways to higher-paying opportunities while strengthening their journey to dental school. SMILE was established in 2024 with support from the pre-heath advising team, the Department of Biological Sciences, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and the Office of Testing and Scholarships.
