After days of rain, sunshine was a welcome guest at the June 11 Spring Fling, the Lehman College Foundation’s annual garden party fundraiser, which raised $350,000 to support its mission to provide student services, scholarships, and financial assistance.
"The success of our annual spring fundraiser is a reminder of what we can achieve when our community unites behind Lehman College's mission," said Kelly Brown, vice president, Institutional Advancement. "There's a shared belief in the potential of our students and the role education plays in transforming their lives, and it's this belief that inspires our ongoing commitment. With the support of dedicated individuals and organizations, we can continue to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation of leaders."
This year’s honorees—The Red Apple Group, 77WABC, and The Lowell F. Hawthorne Foundation, Inc.—were recognized for their ongoing commitment to Lehman College. Their contributions have made a lasting impact, supporting scholarships, academic programs, and vital campus resources that empower Lehman students to thrive.
Reflecting on the occasion, President Fernando Delgado remarked, “Our students are a testament to the dedication and hard work that define Lehman College, as well as to the tenacity, resilience, and talent they embody. This gathering is not only a celebration of our remarkable students, but also a tribute to our distinguished honorees who exemplify the spirit and values we share at Lehman.”
A true celebration of both Lehman College and The Bronx, Spring Fling featured locally-inspired food, community-centered honorees, and live performances by winners of Lehman’s Got Talent. The campus quad buzzed with energy, pride, and purpose.
In addition to the activity onstage, guests bid in a silent auction that included Caribbean travel packages, signed Yankees Baseball memorabilia, and “Lunch with a Billionaire” John Catsimatidis, the businessman and radio talk show host.
With great food, local flair, and a mission-driven spirit, Spring Fling once again proved to be more than just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of what makes Lehman extraordinary.
