New alumna Simíra Smith exemplifies the tenacity and strength of Lehman's Class of 2025. Weathering housing and financial insecurity, a fire, and discouragement from others on the path to a college degree, she held fast to her dream and succeeded—with honors. With her diploma in biological sciences now in hand, Smith has her eyes set on a doctoral degree and a future in cancer research.
