In a special ceremony, 51 outstanding students were officially inducted into the Chi of New York chapter of Phi Beta Kappa on May 14. Professor Emeritus of Languages and Literatures Gary Schwartz, who established and directed the Macaulay Honors College at Lehman, delivered an inspiring keynote address to the new cohort of inductees. Membership in Phi Beta Kappa is a prestigious honor awarded by invitation in recognition of exceptional academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.
