Lennyn Jacob, currently in her first semester of Lehman College’s online Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) program, was recently featured in a CUNY Online blog highlighting her experience with virtual learning.

While attending Bronx Community College and struggling to balance single motherhood, work, and a disability, Jacob discovered the benefits of online classes during the pandemic when CUNY shifted to remote instruction.  “They gave me the flexibility to really push through and actually complete my degree and not give up and not take off another semester,” she said.

Despite moments of burnout, Jacob found strength in the connections she built—first at BCC, and later at the School of Professional Studies, where she completed an online degree. As an outspoken advocate for improved disability funding in education, enrolling in Lehman’s MSOL program was a natural next step for her. What's more. in recognition of her contributions and advocacy, Jacob was named to City & State’s 2024 Higher Education Power 100 list.
