Lehman College Musical Earns National Recognition

An original musical produced by Lehman College’s Department of Music, Multimedia, Theatre, and Dance earned national recognition, taking 3rd place in The American Prize in Musical Theatre Performance, 2025. Daniel in the Lion’s Den, composed and directed by music professor Penny Prince features a script collaboratively written by the cast and offers a fresh take on the classic story.
This year, Lehman took honors for its original musical. Prince added, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be recognized again by The American Prize. It’s always a joy to work with my incredible casts and help bring out their creativity and passion for storytelling through musical theatre.”
This latest honor adds to Prince’s impressive record of American Prize wins across different categories, including her most recent recognition in 2024.
