Henry Love, Lehman Expert on Homelessness Speaks to CityWorks

Henry Love, Lehman adjunct professor of psychology, interviewed on CUNY TV's CityWorks

December 3, 2025

What happens when a paycheck isn't enough to pay rent? Henry Love, an adjunct professor of psychology, spoke to CUNY TV's CityWorks about the large population of working people and their families who are homeless—an often invisible group that includes 30,000 children in New York City currently living in shelters. Love is president of Public Policy and Strategy at the social service and advocacy organization Win, the largest provider of shelter and support services for homeless families in New York City. He noted that homelessness extends far beyond the shelter system, affecting about 140,000 of the City's children. Roughly half of people without homes of their own earn a wage or salary, and this number has included many of his students at Lehman.
