Distinguished Lecturers to Headline April Speaker Series at Lehman College

Lecture 1:  2025 Basile Memorial Lecture 

Date & Time: April 11 at 11 a.m.  

More: The 2025 Basile Memorial Lecture “Phytochemicals, Food & Health” will explore the past, present, and future of botanical research. With over 25 years of  academic research experience in plant biology, phytochemistry, and pharmacology, Ilya Raskin, distinguished professor of Plant Biology at Rutgers, will deliver this year’s lecture.  

 

Lecture 2: The Right Kind of Wrong: The Science of Failing Well, A conversation with Dr. Amy Edmondson 

Date & Time: April 24 at 3 p.m.  

More: Amy C. Edmondson stops by our campus for a special conversation on her groundbreaking book The Right Kind of Wrong: The Science of Failing Well. Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at Harvard Business School, Edmondson will share her insights on leadership and organizational learning. 

Lecture 3: 2025 Arthur Sweeny Jr. Memorial Lecture 

Date & Time: April 25 at 3 p.m.  

More: Nobel Prize winner and faculty member at Columbia University, Louis Brus will deliver this year’s Arthur Sweeny Jr. Lecture. The lecture pays tribute to the memory of Professor Arthur Sweeny and his contributions to science and education. Following the lecture, guests will gather for a reception honoring Sweeny’s legacy.  

Media will have the opportunity to interview lecturers as well as guests in attendance.
