On October 23 at World View High School in The Bronx, the CUNY and NYC Public Schools chancellors joined Lehman College President Fernando Delgado to launch the College Now Guaranteed Admissions program.

“The goal of College Now is to create a pipeline between high schools and institutions of higher education” said President Fernando Delgado as he announced a new three-year pilot program, beginning in Fall 2026, that will offer guaranteed admission and a $500 scholarship to students who complete at least six credits at Lehman and maintain a B average or higher.

Each year, Lehman’s College Now program partners with more than 60 Bronx high schools to provide 2,000 students—including 41 currently at World View—with an opportunity to enroll in college courses for both high school and college credit.

Supported by a 2020 gift from Mackenzie Scott, the new initiative is designed to encourage more high school students to access the program and matriculate after graduation. At the event, Lehman distributed certificates to nine World View students, accepting them into the program. An estimated 470 students across the Bronx will qualify.

The visit is part of a larger effort by two of the nation’s largest education systems to provide students with a more seamless path from high school to higher education.

President Fernando Delgado added, “We want Lehman to be your preferred location, we want you to succeed, we want you to thrive at Lehman.”
