Lehman community, be #cybersmart and stay safe online with these dos and don'ts we compiled from the College's IT Division.

• Don't click links or download attachments from senders you don't recognize.

• Do contact the IT Help Desk at help.desk@lehman.cuny.edu to verify an email's legitimacy or report suspicious activity.

• Don't respond to unsolicited emails that offer stay-at-home jobs and financial assistance. And never send money in response to an email that asks for a job application processing fee. 
  
  
• Do make sure that your virus protection software is up to date.  

• Don't ignore weird red flags. There are often tell-tale signs when an email is fraudulent. For example, it may have obvious spelling or grammar errors, bad formatting, or a 'from' email address that doesn't match the display name.  

• Don't provide your username, password, date of birth, social security number, financial data, or any other personal information in response to an email or phone call.    

• Do learn more about identifying and avoiding online scammers.
