Student Email & Microsoft 365 Apps


All Lehman students are provided with an official campus email account. Your Lehman student email address follows this format: firstname.lastname##@stu-mail.lehman.cuny.edu

This is your official Lehman College email account, and you should begin using it immediately. Important communicationsincluding information about registration, financial aid, and academic deadlines—will be sent to this mailbox. Check it regularly to avoid missing important or time-sensitive information.

One Mailbox for All

Your CUNY Login gives you access to one mailbox for all your CUNY emails. If you are affiliated with multiple CUNY colleges, you will receive a college-branded email address for each CUNY college  - all connected to the same mailbox.

Messages sent to either of the following addresses will be delivered automatically to your CUNY mailbox:

  • firstname.lastname##@stu-mail.lehman.cuny.edu
    Your official Lehman College student email address.

  • firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu
    Your CUNY-assigned email address.

💬 What it’s really like to use the new Microsoft 365 email and apps.

You access your new email using your CUNY Login Account (firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu) via Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft 365 Apps.

👉 Use the same username and password you already use for CUNYfirst, Navigate, Brightspace, and others listed on the Login page which is accessed from Lehman homepage.

✅ There is no new username or password to remember. 

  • You have one mailbox, but it can have multiple email addresses associated with it.

  • You log in using your CUNY Login Account (firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu), which is also one of your email addresses. This single mailbox receives all messages sent to any of the student’s college-branded email addresses.

  • Your Lehman College branded email address is firstname.lastname##@stu-mail.lehman.cuny.edu. Lehman uses this address to contact you, and the one you should share with others.

  • If you have a student email address from another CUNY college, that address continues to work and delivers messages to the same inbox as your Lehman student email.

  • You have one place to check email

If you have not completed the Microsoft MFA set up, you will be forced to do so when trying to access your new mailbox or any of the Microsoft Apps (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, etc.)

If you have not already done so, set up Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) by following the steps described here. 

 

Important to Know

  • When signing in to your new email or Microsoft 365 apps, follow the Microsoft MFA prompts.

  • When signing in to CUNYfirst, Brightspace, Navigate, or other CUNY systems, continue using the same MFA process you already use today. For more information on these two types of MFA processes, see MFA for CUNY Login and Microsoft Office 365.

  • Some students who are also CUNY employees may have already completed Microsoft MFA. If so, no additional action will be required. Your employee email address is one of the email addresses associated with the single mailbox.

  • Most users will only see Microsoft MFA prompts when signing in from a new device or browser.  

Use LehmanQ for live IT support


LehmanQ is the single point of contact for real-time assistance, including:

  • In-person support (Carman Hall, Room 108)
  • Phone support
  • Zoom support

LehmanQ is required for issues that involve identity verification, such as:

  • Password resets
  • Account access
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setups or resets

LehmanQ allows IT to verify identity appropriately, manage high request volumes fairly, and connect users to the right type of support efficiently.
