Request For New Accounts

Requests for new, official, accounts must be made to the Office of Communications and Marketing. To preserve continuity of the accounts, Communications must be given credentials. In turn, Communications will help with:

Questions to Keep in Mind

When requesting a new channel, you must be able to answer all the following questions:

  • What is your overarching goal?
  • What audience do you want to reach?
  • How often do you plan to post content?
  • Who will be responsible for posting?
  • How much time are you dedicating to manage the account?
  • How will you measure success?
Post Responsibly

It is vital that each account manager understands they are personally responsible for any content posted when representing Lehman on social media platforms. Everyone with access to post on an official Lehman social media channel must follow all applicable Federal and State, CUNY, and Lehman policies and guidelines, including FERPA, HIPAA, and copyright requirements.

Student clubs and organization should work with the Office of Student Life for guidelines on setting up social media accounts for their group.

CUNY will not be liable for and will not indemnify an employee for any liability that results from postings from personal social media accounts.

By working together, Lehman official social media accounts can collectively expand awareness and build support for Lehman’s mission by telling stories of success and accomplishments by our people, places, and programs.
