College Now is a collaborative program between the City University of New York (CUNY) and New York City Public High Schools (NYCPS). It is a FREE dual enrollment and transition program for qualified NYC public high school students.

The Lehman College Now Program services over 60 high schools in the Bronx and over 2000 students per academic year. College Now offers NYC public high school students the opportunity to enroll in college credit courses. These courses are transferable to most public and private universities. Courses are offered in a variety of modalities including in person classes on the Lehman campus (recommended), hybrid and online synchronous.  This experience helps students build the academic skills that are necessary to be successful in college.

Guaranteed Admission & $500 Scholarship

Every College Now student who completes two classes at Lehman with a B or better is guaranteed admission to Lehman College with a $500 scholarship.

Program Benefits


Students can qualify to enroll freshman college credit courses at Lehman College. The college credits earned in our program can be transferred to most colleges and universities throughout the country.

The Lehman College Now courses are taught by Lehman College faculty members

Students who enroll in College Now courses that meets in person on the Lehman campus will receive a Lehman College Student ID which gives the student access to the Library and Information Technology Center (IT Center)

You will gain experience in dealing with the expectations and fast pace of performing college-level work.

Program Eligibility

New York City Public High School Student or registered homeschool student is eligible to participate with the following academic criteria:

  • High School Junior or Senior (There are some courses open to HS sophomores)
  • 80+ overall High School Average
  • 75+ on the English Language Arts Regents Exam (recommended)
  • 70+ on Math Regents Exam (recommended)

Note: Math and Spanish Language courses may have additional requirements including a placement exam. The summer courses have different requirements and updated information is posted as the summer semester approaches.
