Any student who meets the following criteria:

• is a declared major or minor in CMP or CIS, and
• has completed at least one semester at Lehman, and
• has a GPA of at least 2.5, and
• did not receive a penalty grade during the most recently graded semester at Lehman.

Students gain valuable work experience and can earn three undergraduate credits in either CMP 487 or CIS 488.

• CMP 487 can be used as an elective course toward the Bachelor of Science major in computer science or as an elective toward the minor in computer science.
• CIS 488 can be used as an elective course toward the Bachelor of Science major in computer information systems or as an elective toward the minor in computer applications.

• Students interested in participating in an internship must first seek clearance from Prof. Sameh Fakhouri.
• The cleared student must then find an interested company and apply to work there as a college intern.
• Once accepted by the work site, the student must then complete a Learning Agreement, which must be signed by the student, the work supervisor, the Department Internship Coordinator, and the Internship Coordinator, Ms. Luisiana Baez-Canela.Then, and only then, the student will be allowed to register for the Internship Course.

• The standard workload is approximately 12 hours per week, 180 hours total.
• Since the internship requires a substantial time commitment, applicants should not have a job that requires working 20 or more hours a week.
• No internship can be granted for work done at your regular job, nor even in a separate office of the company for which you work.
• Only two internship courses may be applied to any one degree.
• Only one internship course may be applied to any one major or minor.

As soon as you complete the paperwork.

• You don't have to wait for the beginning of summer or fall semester, as long as you complete the required work in time to be graded.
• In particular, you may do the work over the summer and have the course registered for the Fall semester.
