The Office of the Registrar keeps all student academic records. This includes your courses and grades, semester and cumulative indices, withdrawals and personal information.
The Office designs and implements applications to facilitate student registration, class offerings, and classroom assignments. We are committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our students’ records, and are guided by the principles of fairness, good stewardship, and a commitment to excellence.
Diplomas, Your Major and Preferred Names

iDeclare allows you to initiate a request to declare, drop, or change your Academic Plan (major) and/or subplan online. Requests to change or acquire a major are subject to review by the appropriate departmental advisor for approval and processing.
Please be mindful that there is a deadline to declare your major and/or minor. Check the Academic Calendar for the deadline.
Moving forward, if you submit a preferred name request in CUNYfirst it will replace your legal first name as part of your CUNY Login ID, as well as several other CUNY systems such as Blackboard, Brightspace, DegreeWorks, Navigate, Schedule Builder, etc.
In addition, starting in the 2025-2026 Academic Year, students will be able to specify a preferred name that differs from their legal name on their diploma. For more information, click here.
