For Lehman College students, summer is anything but downtime. It’s a season to build careers, deepen academic interests, explore new cultures, and give back to their communities. We recently asked students how they spent their "time off"—and their responses say it all.

Students took on paid internships across the government, academic, and corporate sectors. At the NYC Department of Aging, Michael Galindo got a firsthand look at how a city as complex as New York provides essential social services. Daniela Loveridge worked on multiple projects as a tax intern at PwC, one of the Big Four accounting firms. At the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute, based at City College, Gabriel Bencosme evaluated senior services in Manhattan's Dominican communities and delved into the archives for research on the Dominican Civil War.

Across the globe, Audrey Adon-Rosario, a Jeannette K. Watson Fellow, served as a palliative care intern in Tanzania, and Anyeli Rojas Romero studied abroad in Japan at Tenri University.

These are just some of the broad range of summer opportunities available to Lehman students—experiences that not only enhance their education but also open doors to careers, graduate study, and transformative personal growth.
