My Lehman Story
I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to be creative.
Finding purpose through creativity.
Josmar Taveras came to Lehman College unsure of his path, but certain of one thing—he wanted to be creative. That drive led him to Lehman’s Multimedia Center, where he discovered not only a passion for storytelling but also a community that nurtured his growth.
He credits the faculty and staff at the center for helping him find direction:
“They gave me the tools and the confidence to pursue something I didn’t even know was possible.”
Lehman gave me the space to explore, to fail, and to grow.
Today, Josmar is the Visual and Technical Operations Manager at USA Today, a role he says wouldn’t have been possible without the foundation he built at Lehman. His story is a testament to the power of access, mentorship, and creative freedom.
