My Lehman Story
When I came out of my shell and I involved myself in the Lehman community, I felt a part of a big family.
Building confidence and career through community.
Catherine Baduyeboah’s Lehman journey began with a decision to open herself to the community around her. “When I opened up myself to the resources that Lehman has to offer to students, I felt it has really built me as a person that I am now ready to face the bigger world out there.” Through her involvement, she developed leadership, career, and service skills that prepared her for the future.
She was awarded the Saint George’s Scholarship, which she says was “very helpful to me, especially towards the last stretch of my academic journey.” That support helped her build networks and transition into the nursing department, where she found even more opportunities.
Lehman has opened the doors for me and I have built my leadership skills, my career skills, my service skills.
Catherine credits Dr. Gwendolyn Lancaster from the nursing department as being “so great and instrumental.” She adds, “Without them I wouldn’t have been here.” Her long-term goal is to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and she plans to begin as an ICU nurse to build her practical experience.
