In the United States (U.S.), labor is often stratified by sex and this form of occupational segregation can contribute to health disparities. Certain work schedule characteristics, such as long work hours, can prevent proper management of chronic health conditions, including diabetes. In the present study, Professor Gonzalez will present novel findings specific to women workers, highlighting the importance of examining how and for whom work conditions hinder or support health.
