Did you know that every year, more than one billion pounds of pumpkins are sent to the landfill after Halloween in the U.S.? Pumpkin Smash is a fun, eco-friendly way to celebrate the fall season. Instead of letting those festive pumpkins contribute to climate change, come smash them at Lehman College and help transform pumpkins into compost for parks and community gardens. While you’re there, enjoy pumpkin-based recipes, try your hand at pumpkin crafts, and more.
