Ti-Jean and His Brothers
by Derek Walcott, music by Andre Tanker
directed by Rick DesRochers, choreography by Michael Manswell
A dance/theatre collaboration from the Nobel Prize-winning playwright/poet and founder of the Trinidad Theatre Workshop, Derek Walcott.
Ti-Jean and His Brothers is Nobel Prize-winning author Derek Walcott’s Caribbean folk tale told in the form of a dance/theatre performance that is at once a musical, a comedy, a drama, an adventure, a mystery, and a horror story. With music composed by the legendary Andre Tanker, this production features live music, song, and dance in a musical fable where animals come to life to tell the tale of human struggles both physical and spiritual set on a fictional Caribbean island.
