Department of Sociology Spring 2024 Colloquium: Sociological Perspectives on COVID-19

Join the Department of Sociology and guest speaker Dr. David Russell (Associate Professor of Sociology at Appalachian State University) along with Lehman College Professors Devrim Yavuz and Naomi Spence, to hear about two research studies that take distinct approaches to understanding the COVID-19 pandemic. Using qualitative interview data, Dr. Russell will share findings from an exploration of Long COVID illness experiences, and Professor Spence will share findings on biographical disruptions resulting from Long COVID illness. Drs. Russell, Yavuz, and Spence will also discuss an on going quantitative research project analyzing the impacts of state capacity on COVID-19 vaccination rates around the world.
