(Bronx, New York, August 19, 2024) - Lehman Stages is proud to present “BronxShakes” - The Bronx Shakespeare Festival at Lehman College, and its exciting production of Love’s Labour’s Lost by William Shakespeare, in the new outdoor amphitheatre at Lehman College.

In this Shakespearean love letter, adapted and directed by Alyssa Van Gorder, the King of Navarre and his friends pledge to devote themselves solely to pursuits of the mind - and not the heart - for a term of three years. But when the Princess of France and her beautiful entourage of ladies arrive on important diplomatic business, the men’s vows are put to the test! Join BronxShakes with an all Lehman alumni cast, as we bask in the idealism and excesses of youth and transport you to the 1920’s in this sharp, playful and jazz-infused take on Shakespeare’s vibrant comedy.
“Our goal at Lehman Stages is to bring our community together and improve the quality of cultural life in The Bronx,” said Dante Albertie, Director of Lehman Stages. “After the wonderful response we had from the community with our inaugural production of Romeo and Juliet last year, we are so excited to be back with Love’s Labour’s Lost from BronxShakes!”
Founded in 2003, Lehman Stages entertains and educates thousands of Bronxites every year with cultural arts programming and initiatives like SUMMERWORX, The Kids Rule Weekend, Breakfast with Santa, The Herbert H. Dance Company and much more.
