Dr. David Pantalone is Dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences at Lehman College, City University of New York. His work is aimed at preventing and treating HIV and addressing health disparities among sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals, focusing on the development and evaluation of culturally tailored behavioral interventions, as well as the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices. He has developed interventions that improve mental health outcomes, promote HIV-related health behaviors, and support individuals coping with identity-based discrimination.

Dr. Pantalone has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has delivered over 200 presentations, including invited lectures and clinical training, at national and international scientific meetings. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). His honors include the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from APA Division 44, the inaugural Mentorship Award from ABCT’s Behavioral Medicine and Integrated Primary Care Special Interest Group, and the Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Scholarship from the University of Massachusetts Boston.

He currently serves as a member of the APA Council of Representatives. At ABCT, he chaired the Leadership and Elections Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary-Treasurer-Elect. Dr. Pantalone has served on editorial boards for journals such as the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and has worked as Associate Editor and Guest Editor for several other academic outlets.

Before joining Lehman College, Dr. Pantalone served as Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Massachusetts Boston. During his time there, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses, supervised doctoral students in clinical training, and held key campus service roles, including faculty advisor to the Queer Student Center and member of Faculty Council.

Dr. Pantalone holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington and an A.B. in Public Policy from Brown University. He completed his clinical training at the Seattle VA Medical Center and a postdoctoral fellowship at Hunter College.
