Biography
Brenda Hernandez-Acevedo earned her Ph.D. in nursing education from Capella University in 2017. She also holds an M.S. in nursing, and worked in the healthcare field from 1995-2014, serving in a variety of clinical, supervisory, administrative, and educative roles for several healthcare agencies. In 2014 Dr. Hernandez-Acevedo made a transition into nursing education at Atenas College in Puerto Rico, where she served as vice president for Innovation and Institutional Quality, and later as associate dean of the nursing and physical therapy assistant programs. In 2017 she was appointed associate dean of nursing at ASA College. Dr. Hernandez-Acevedo’s expertise includes distance nursing education and simulation, patient safety and quality-of-care education for healthcare teams, nursing curriculum development, and community-based health care.
