Biography

Dr. Amy S. White is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Equity, Administration, and Technology at Lehman College of the City University of New York (CUNY). Dr. White’s current work studies the transition from public to private health benefits and the potential health impacts from the resulting discontinuities of care. Her recent work is on the total cost of higher education for students who out-earn the income requirements for benefits and is expanding her research on continuity of care in individuals who lose their Medicaid benefits. Dr. White has worked in higher education for over fifteen years, teaching classes on wellness, health care administration, managed care, health care finance, and research methods, among others. Prior to working in academia, Dr. White was a health economist and conducted retrospective claims analyses to publish cost of treatment and outcomes research studies. Dr. White holds an EdD from A.T. Still University, a SM in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and an AB from Brown University.
