Biography

Tammy Christensen
Dr. Tammy Lee Christensen is a Doctoral Lecturer and the Health Services Administration Internship Coordinator at Lehman College, City University of New York. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State University, a Master of Public Health in International Health Systems Management from Tulane University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Hunter College CUNY.
Dr. Christensen has extensive experience in intergovernmental relations, health policy, and international public health. She served in the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso from 1999 to 2001, then lived and worked in Alaska for three years. During her last year and a half there, she served as a Nutrition Grant Coordinator—a role she found deeply rewarding.
She received Best Research Paper for her section at the Academy of Business Research Conference in New Orleans 2025 and served as an abstract reviewer for the American Public Health Association.
At Lehman College, she coordinates one of the largest undergraduate internship programs in Health Services Administration. Each Spring semester, nearly 200 students are placed at healthcare sites across New York City. Her work focuses on preparing future health professionals to meet the needs of diverse and underserved communities through real-world, hands-on experience.
