Biography

Takiyah A. Ali, Director of Graduate Studies, has been a leader at Lehman College since 2012, holding roles such as Deputy Director, Deputy Registrar, Graduation Registrar and DegreeWorks Master Scriber/Coordinator. With nearly two decades in Higher Education, Enrollment Management, IT, and College Governance, she has driven student success and institutional advancement.

Beyond administration, Takiyah is deeply involved in campus governance, labor relations, and advocacy.  She serves on the Labor Management Executive Committee, HEO Labor Management Committee, and College Senate. She also supports student well-being through roles on the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), Faculty Student Disciplinary Committee (FSDC), and Retroactive Medical Emergency Withdrawal Committee. As the campus HEO Advisor and HEO Cross-Campus Chapter Delegate, she champions HEO rights, equity, and faculty-staff collaboration.

Takiyah holds a B.A. in Computer Information Technology with a minor in Philosophical Ethics from Mount Saint Mary College and an M.S. in Information and Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University.
