Biography
Sophia Hsu
Sophia Hsu earned her Ph.D. in English from Rice University in 2017. Her dissertation, "Genres of Population: Biopolitics and the Novel in the Modern Age," retheorizes the development of the British novel in the 19th century in terms of population growth and demographic change. Dr. Hsu has taught writing and composition seminars and courses in global literature and medical humanities, and developed a pioneering medical humanities course for undergraduate health science majors at Rice.
