Biography

Marisol Jimenez is the Senior Director of Academic Programs. In that role, she manages programs that focus on college access and student success. Programs under her portfolio include the Office of Academic Standards and Evaluation; the Lehman College Accelerate, Complete, Engage (ACE) Program; the Lehman College Now program, providing a college transition/dual enrollment program for New York City public high school students; the First Year Initiative, administering the first-year seminar at Lehman; the Instructional Support Services Program (ISSP), providing academic support and tutoring for Lehman students; and Search for Education Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK), an equal opportunity program. She co-leads the Step-Up program at Lehman which provides holistic support for pandemic-impacted first-year students, including academic advising, socio-emotional and educational support, mentoring, and faculty development. Her research, publications, and presentations have focused on academic support, college teaching, Hispanic-serving Institutions, and assessment of the quality of education offered by colleges and universities.

Marisol holds a B.A. in English from the University at Albany (State University of New York), an M.A. in English (Rhetoric and Composition Theory) from Purdue University, as well as an Ed.M and an Ed.D in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
