Program Benefits
By participating in the College Now Program, you can reduce the time and money spent in earning a college degree. In addition, the courses you take, regardless of the subject or level, will help you to do better in high school. College Now reinforces the skills you need to progress towards graduation and enhances your performance on Regents examinations. The primary benefits are:
- You can qualify to take freshman college credit courses at Lehman College. The college credits you earn in our program can be transferred to most colleges and universities throughout the country.
- All Lehman College Now Program courses are taught on campus by accredited Lehman College faculty.
- When you are enrolled in a college-credit course, you will receive a Lehman College Student ID, which gives you access to the library, IT center (computer lab), and the APEX athletics complex.
- You will gain experience in dealing with the expectations and fast pace of performing college-level work.
Program Eligibility
Any qualified student from a partner NYC public high school can participate in the program.
In order to qualify to take a college credit-bearing course in our program, you must meet the following criteria:
- 80+ overall HS average, and
- 75+ on the Common Core English Language Arts Regents
OR
- 80+ overall HS average, and
- 500+ on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section
Note: A high school transcript and SAT score report (if applicable) must be submitted to demonstrate eligibility.
Note: Math and Spanish Language courses have additional requirements including a placement exam. The placement exam applications are posted in the How to Apply page. The summer courses have different requirements and updated information is posted as the summer semester approaches.
