Riana Richards

My name is Riana Richards, and I majored in Political Science with a minor in Urban Community Development. Upon high school graduation, I came into Lehman College and the ACE program with extra credits. My advisor Chelsea and the ACE staff were supportive of my academic journey every step of the way. I am especially grateful to Chelsea, who helped me in achieving and completing my bachelor's degree in under 4 years. I'm grateful to CUNY, ACE and all of my professors.

I am now a member of The Pi SIgma Alpha Honor's Society and am delighted to have received The Maureen Sullivan Wenz Award.

Gabriela Melo

Throughout my journey at Lehman College, the ACE program became a huge part of my success. From helping me register for classes and providing transportation support, to offering book credits, advising, and so many helpful workshops—it made everything a little easier and a lot more possible. The support I received through ACE gave me the confidence and structure I needed to stay on track and keep moving forward. As an honors student, I graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Right now, I’m working at a well-respected institution that’s giving me the stability and support I need as I take the next step toward my goals. I’m excited to continue my education by pursuing a master’s degree in child psychology—a path I feel truly passionate about.

To any student considering the ACE program: don’t hesitate. The resources, the encouragement, and the community you’ll find are truly unmatched. Use every opportunity they offer and trust that you belong here—you’re more capable than you think. I’m forever grateful to my family for always believing in me, and to my partner for being my rock—your love and support meant everything during these four years. And lastly, I want to thank me—for showing up, for pushing through, and for never giving up on this dream. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. We really did it!

Delgardo Hutchinson

My name is Delgardo Hutchinson, and I majored in Mathematics at Lehman College with a minor in Actuarial Science. Throughout my time at Lehman, I had been the Vice President for the Archimedes Club, as well as attended and assisted with various ALPHA and NABA events across New York. In joining the ACE Program, I received invaluable support, especially through tuition assistance and personalized class advising each semester. I’m especially grateful to Kimra, my ACE advisor, whose consistent guidance and encouragement helped me to make the most of every opportunity.

The ACE team’s dedication played a key role in helping me stay on track and excel academically, including graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors, departmental honors, college honors, being inducted into the Pi Mu Epsilon Honor Society, NY Tau Chapter, and receiving the Nicholas Hanges Award for Excellence in Mathematics. I’m deeply grateful for their support throughout my college journey as I look towards future endeavors.
