Student Parking

Permits and Availability:

Student parking permits go on sale two weeks before the semester begins. Permits are valid for one semester only, except for Fall decals, which expire on January 31st.


The parking permit fees are the following:

  • Day Permit: $75. Allows parking access during both day and evening hours.
  • Evening-Only Permit: $55. Provides parking access after 5:15 PM.

Important Notes:

  • All parking fees are non-refundable. Please select your permit type carefully.
  • Permits are non-transferable and must only be used by the purchasing student while on campus.
  • Cars parked on campus while the student is off campus will be in violation of college policy, which may result in loss of parking privileges or towing at the owner’s expense.
  • A valid parking decal is required to park in any College lot.
  • Decals must be displayed at all times, or vehicles risk ticketing by Public Safety.

Eligibility Requirements

To purchase a parking permit, you must:

  • Be enrolled in the current semester.
  • Have a valid Lehman student photo ID that grants campus access.

If you do not have a physical student photo ID, contact Public Safety at public safety for instructions. Please note that the Lehman 360 Digital ID is not valid for parking access—a physical ID is required.

Payments can be made in the following ways:

  • Online: Using Visa or MasterCard (including debit cards). log-in to Lehman360.
  • In-Person: Cash, check, or money order payments can be made at the Bursar’s Office, Shuster Hall Room 031.
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM.
  • Note: The Bursar’s Office does not accept credit or debit card payments.

After payment, visit the Campus Activities Office in Shuster Hall, Room 078 with the following:

  • Your Lehman physical ID.
  • Your payment receipt.

They will activate your ID card and issue your parking decal.

 

Faculty and Staff Parking Permits

Availability: Faculty and staff parking permits will be available starting the first week of August.

Rates:

  • Reserved Parking Permit: $285
  • Unreserved Parking Permit: $185
  • Night-Only Permit (Paul Avenue Lot): $125
    • Valid only after 5 PM at the Paul Avenue parking lot.
    • Cannot be used during the day or at any other parking lot.
    • No reserved parking form is required for the Night-Only Permit.
  • Online Payments: Using Visa or MasterCard (including debit cards). log-in to Lehman360
  • In-Person Payments: Cash, check, or money order payments can be made at the Bursar’s Office, Shuster Hall, Room 031.
    • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM.
    • Note: The Office of Campus Activities does not accept payments in their office.

After purchasing your permit, visit the Office of Campus Activities (Shuster Hall, Room 078) with:

  • Your receipt, and
  • Your dual ID card

If you do not have an ID card, contact the Office of Public Safety at 718-960-8593 to obtain one, as it is required for parking privileges.

  • Decal Requirements: A valid parking decal must be displayed in your vehicle at all times when parked in any College parking lot. Vehicles without decals are subject to ticketing by Public Safety.
  • A grace period will be provided until you are notified that decals are ready for pick-up.
  • Reserved parking permits should only be purchased after approval of your reserved parking request.
  • Requests are currently being accepted for parking at the South Lot and Paul Avenue Lot.
  • To apply for reserved parking, submit a completed Reserve Parking Request Form via email to lehman.parking@lehman.cuny.edu.
  • Reserved parking is extremely limited and is granted based on demonstrated need for “in-out” privileges.
  • Having a reserved parking space this year does not guarantee approval for the next academic year.
  • The Science Lot will remain closed for the time being.
 

BronxNet Employees and Apex Members

The parking permit rate for BronxNet employees and Apex members is $250.

 

All members

Once you have paid for your parking fee, you will be issued a decal and a Dual Access Lehman ID card. Lost or misplaced Dual Access Lehman ID cards and parking permits can only be replaced at full cost. All payments for replacement ID’s or permits must be made in person at Bursar’s Office, Shuster Room 031.

There is "No Parking: in the following areas at all times: 

  • Any "Reserved Space"
    • Any "Handicapped space" unless:
    • N.Y.S. Disabled License Permit or Plate.
  • In front of a fire hydrant.
  • Entrances or exits.
  • Any "Restricted Area"
  • Students are only permitted to park on campus for academic purposes.
  • Vehicles parked in violation will be towed at owner's own expense.

The College provides Campus Peace Officers for the safety of people and property. All people using the campus parking facilities are expected to cooperate with the officers by accepting their directions and suggestions. Officers will place tickets on all vehicles in violation of parking regulations.

Please be advised that failure to pay parking violations summonses may result in the revocation of your campus parking privileges, deactivation of your dual card and, for students, a negative service indicator will be placed on your CUNYfirst account. Anyone who repeatedly violates College parking regulations will forfeit their privilege of using the College parking facilities and will be reported to the proper College authorities. Should it become necessary to remove a vehicle which is found to be in violation of parking regulations, the owner will be liable for all expenses incurred.

The following is a list of the most common regulation violations:

  • Parking on Campus without a proper Lehman College
  • Parking Sticker/Permit.
  • Parking OVERNIGHT.
  • Failure to park within marked parking spaces.
  • Parking in lanes.
  • Failure to stop at entrances to parking areas.
  • Failure to follow instructions of Public Safety personnel.
  • Failure to comply with posted signs.
  • Parking while not on campus

All people using the parking facilities on the Lehman College Campus should:

  • Lock their vehicles at all times while vehicles are parked on the Campus.
  • Leave nothing of value on the seat; lock all property in the trunk.
  • Report all complaints to the Department of Public Safety.
