The Nursing, Education Research and Practice Center

The latest big project built on campus, the new Nursing, Education Research and Practice Center is a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility that supports Lehman College's various nursing programs. The $95 million, 52,000 square foot award-winning space was designed by Urbahn Architects. Spanning four levels, the new building features 22 programmable, computerized patient simulators—including one that gives birth—in emergency, intensive care, surgical, and maternity labs, as well as a 20-bed nursing skills and physical assessment lab, all located on a replica of a hospital floor. There is also an apartment for daily living to help train nurses for home visits.

This new building is now a crucial piece driving the college mission to meet the growing need for healthcare workers especially for underserved communities in The Bronx and Westchester.
