During their second year in the Social Work program, students complete 15 hours of practicum each week in a social services agency or school. Students are matched with a specific setting based on their interest, experience, location, and the needs of the agency/school. Some areas of practice in which students may be matched are:
- Schools
- Community health
- Housing
- Substance use disorder
- Working with older adults
- Mental health clinics such as Lehman’s Bronx Telehealth Counseling Center

Some courses are offered in a hybrid format – allowing for both online and in person learning. Evening and weekend courses are also available.

This program offers a Dual-Language English Spanish Practicum Seminar Class, preparing students who wish to work with Spanish-speaking communities.
