Program Overview

Our Childhood Education MSEd program equips educators to collaboratively build dynamic, inclusive classrooms rooted in the values, relationships, and experiences that foster a more just and equitable world. Teacher candidates have the opportunity to complete their fieldwork in local Bronx Professional Development Schools (PDS), where they observe and engage with culturally sustaining and equity-centered teaching practices they have learned in their methods courses.

At its heart, teaching is a deeply human profession filled with beauty, joy, and wonder as we are challenged to face our fears and vulnerabilities. It is a calling, which invites us to grow, reflect, and become better humans as we support the academic and personal lives of our students and school communities. Join us as you embark on your professional journey into the classroom as a Lehman College MSEd Childhood teacher candidate!
