Gain professional skills and networking experience with a paid internship while still a student. Having an internship is key to landing a job after graduation!

The Art and Humanities Paid Internship Program was created in 2023 to address the gap in professional access for students from minoritized communities owing to systematic inequities within institutional spaces. The program assists Lehman College students with majors in the School of Arts and Humanities to secure paid internships while still at college. These paid internships will better prepare students for jobs upon graduation.

For Students

Students who sign up for the Arts & Humanities Paid Internship Program receive intensive year-round guidance on career planning and professional development. While majoring in subjects offered by nine different departments (Art, Africana Studies, English, History, Journalism and Media Studies, Languages and Literatures, Latin American and Latino Studies, Music, Multimedia, Theatre, and Dance, and Philosophy), students receive guidance on career preparations specific to their industries and majors.

The program at building long lasting impactful relationships with employers and organizations who partner with the School to offer internships and experiential learning engagements to our students. The guiding principle of the initiative is to create a holistic learning experience for the students such that off-campus internship engagement is tied to classroom discussions and growth. The program team works closely with faculty and employers to ensure three-way communication that creates a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.
